Mohs Skin Cancer Surgery
Mohs micrographic surgery is a specialized, highly effective technique for the removal of skin cancer and repair of the area. It permits the immediate and complete microscopic examination of the removed cancerous tissue, so that all extensions of the cancer can be eliminated. Mohs surgery is performed in the physician’s office and the patient is awake during the procedure. Mohs surgery has been recognized as the skin cancer treatment with the highest reported cure rate. Robert C. Wright, M.D. and Hunter H. Sams, M.D. have the specialized skills to perform Mohs surgery. Dr. Wright is a member of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. Dr. Sams completed a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Division of Dermatology in Nashville, TN.
