Phototherapy

Phototherapy involves the exposure of the skin to very specific amounts of Ultraviolet light under the supervision of our physicians and nurses. The light rays can be either UVA, UVB Broad Band or UVB Narrow Band. PUVA, which is UVA light administered in conjunction with a photosensitizing drug, psoralen, can increase the efficacy of this treatment.

Phototherapy is an effective treatment for a range of skin conditions including psoriasis, eczema, and lichen planus. We also have a special phototherapy unit that specifically treats conditions localized to the hands and feet.
